Overview

In Canada, Fuze drinks are sold as natural health products while in the United States, no health claims are made for Fuze drinks, which have vitamins and minerals added. Fuze drinks are designed for active women looking for an energizing drink beverage or to lose weight. In an 8 oz. serving, Slenderize flavors have 5 to 10 calories; Teas have 60 calories; Diet Teas have no calories; Refresh flavors have 90 to 100 calories; and Vitalize flavors have 100 to 120 calories. Fuze drinks are sold in 16 oz. to 18.5 oz. bottles.

Filtered Water

The main ingredient in Fuze drinks is filtered water. Water is necessary for hydration and has been shown to be helpful in weight loss. Drinking water before or during meals makes you feel full and decreases calorie intake. Brenda Davy of Virginia Tech found dieters who drank 16 oz. of water before meals lost significantly more weight in a three-month study. For athletes, water is needed to replace fluids lost in sweat.

Flavor and Color

Fuze Tangerine Grapefruit, Strawberry Melon and Blackberry Grape and other Fuze flavors contain fruit juice concentrates and natural flavors. Cirtic acid, Malic acid and similar ingredients provide a tart taste. Vegetable juices and beta-carotene add color to some flavors.

Sweeteners

A combination of Acesulfame-Potassium, Sucralose and Sucrose.gives low-calorie Fuze drinks their distinctive taste. Acesulfame-Potassium is a calorie-free sweetener that provides most of the sweetness to the Slenderize Fuze drinks. Fruit juices, fructose and sucrose provide sweetness and energy in Fuze Refresh and Fuze Vitalize drinks.

Supplements

Fuze Slenderize drinks have chromium, L-carnitine, and extract of Asian fruit Garcinia cambogia added. Fuze Refresh drinks contain calcium, and vitamins A, B, C and E. Fuze Teas are a source of antioxidants, polyphenols, vitamins A C and E. The higher calorie Fuze Vitalize drinks have magnesium, calcium, potassium, and vitamins A, C and E. Skim milk is an ingredient in some Fuze drinks.
