Warning
The cabbage soup diet states that you should not follow the plan for more than seven days at a time. Elaine Turner, a nutritionist at the University of Florida, says that although the cabbage soup diet contains foods that are low in calories, it does not contain enough protein or carbohydrates, which may cause health problems if you have particular nutritional needs. Because of the amount of soup and bouillon you eat during the plan, you may eat more than your recommended sodium intake as well.
