The Super Green Tea Diet is manufactured by Nature's Bounty, a major producer of vitamins and supplements. This dietary supplement claims to promote metabolism and provide energy to its users through a combination of the Super Green Tea Diet pill and an exercise plan included in the box. However, reviews note that the benefits of the Super Green Tea Diet are difficult to identify, as there have been no clinical studies of the use of the product alone and without exercise, which may play a larger role in weight loss than the actual pill.

Green Tea Benefits

People have used green tea for approximately 5,000 years for a variety of its perceived benefits, including prolonged energy. According to the Mayo Clinic, green tea has been tested for its curing abilities with diseases ranging from hypertension to cancer, though tests are largely inconclusive regarding its effect on these diseases. Green tea may, however, promote energy and weight loss as a result of its caffeine and other green tea extract contents.

How the Diet Works

The manufacturers of the Super Green Tea Diet recommend taking one capsule in the morning and another in the afternoon with a full glass of water. Because of the caffeine content in green tea, taking the pill in the evening may lead to trouble sleeping at night. In addition to taking the pills, the manufacturer also recommends an exercise routine included with the product, though users can combine the diet with the exercise program of their choosing as well. Users should note that while the Super Green Tea Diet claims to boost metabolism to promote weight loss, effective dieting requires burning more calories than consumed, which can only be done through physical activity.

Ingredients

The Super Green Tea Diet pills contain seven ingredients, including vitamin B6, chromium, green tea, guarana, ginger, bladderwrack extract and uva ursi. The Mayo Clinic notes that vitamin B6 assists with metabolism, while chromium is believed to increase the amount of calories burned and decrease appetite. Similarly, guarana promotes weight loss through appetite suppression and its properties of caffeine. Ginger assists with digestion and bladderwrack extract increases the amount of iodine in the body, promoting weight loss. The National Institutes of Health raises concerns that increasing iodine intake may have adverse health effects.

Side Effects

Users of the Super Green Tea Diet have reported headaches, nausea and other stomach problems while taking these pills. The caffeine and guarana content of the pills may also contribute to other symptoms reported by users, including dizziness and anxiousness.

Considerations

Those concerned about the ingredients in the Super Green Tea Diet may consider drinking three to five cups of green tea per day in combination with an exercise routine. However, users have reported achieving weight-loss results without side effects. Evaluate your own sensitivity to the ingredients in the Super Green Tea Diet pills and consult your physician to determine if the diet is appropriate for you.
