As you age your skin begins to break down and new skin growth slows. It may not be as supple and firm as it once was. Skin also begins to lose elasticity and collagen around your 30s, according to YogaJournal.com. Women in their 30s still have more than half their life to live, but by using the right cleansers and facial products, you can help new skin regenerate while you rejuvenate your skin.

Salicylic Acid

Using a mild cleanser containing salicylic acid can help remove dead skin cells and promote the growth of healthy new skin cells, according to the American Academy of Dermatology. This is especially important to those who have mature skin as skin production begins to slow. Salicylic acid begins by softening your skin, which makes it easier to shed as you cleanse your face, according to DermNet NZ. An added benefit of salicylic acid is that it helps treat adult acne by breaking down blackheads and whiteheads. Salicylic acid facial cleansers are available over-the-counter in various strengths.

Sulfur

Many facial cleansers contain sulfur, a naturally occurring element, to help cleanse your skin and relieve inflammation. Sulfur has an unpleasant odor, according to the University of Maryland Medical Center, that resembles the smell of rotten eggs. Sulfur is a type of gas that has escaped into the air from volcanic eruptions and is often found near hot springs. Sulfur works similarly to salicylic acid, in that it effectively removes dead skin cells to promote the growth of new skin, according to the University of Maryland Medical Center. Sulfur is sometimes used to treat other skin conditions such as eczema, folliculitis, dandruff and psoriasis.

Botanical Cleansers

Soothing botanical cleansers can help nourish and cleanse mature skin. Botanical cleansers often contain ingredients such as chamomile, shea butter and marigold, according to YogaJournal.com. These ingredients contain moisturizing properties that penetrate through the top layer of your skin, which helps restore moisture while gently cleansing. Harsh cleansers can cause your skin to breakdown faster, causing your face to appear older than it really is. Botanical cleansers may also contain antioxidants, which help destroy free radicals. Destroying free radicals can help prevent further skin damage, which can help your skin appear more youthful.
