Sears Lifestyler 3100 Treadmill Specs

The Lifestyler 3100 residential, motorized treadmill was produced in 1989 and sold at Sears department stores. Icon Health and Fitness, the largest fitness equipment manufacturer, made the Lifestyler line, which was discontinued in the 1990s. You may still find used Lifestyler treadmills for sale by private owners or at online auction sites.

Design

The 3100 is a foldable treadmill. The upright assembly that holds the console lowers onto the walking belt. You can then lift the treadmill and roll it to a closet or other storage area, if desired. Folding the 3100 does require removing some bolts and washers from the handrail. Store these in a safe location so as not to misplace them.

Speed Options

The Lifestyler 3100 features eight programmable sliding speed controls and one manual sliding speed control on the console. To manually control a workout, slide the manual control up or down to increase or decrease the speed of the walking belt. To set a programmed workout, slide the timer control to the desired amount of minutes you want to work out for. Set each of the eight speed controls. The machine will divide the workout time evenly among each of the eight speeds you selected, automatically adjusting the speed of the walking belt.

Incline Options

You cannot adjust the ramp incline while you are working out on the Lifestyler 3100 treadmill. To increase the incline, stand on the rails near the back of the machine and pull the lever on the console. To decrease the incline, pull the lever while standing on the rails near the front of the machine. The manual states that you may need to lean forward while lowering the incline.
