Many people desire to lose weight and burn fat. A major misconception is that you have to reduce food intake and tolerate hunger for weight loss and fat burning to occur. In reality, by increasing your daily intake of the right kinds of foods, you can naturally increase your metabolism and burn fat. Many foods we consume on a daily basis can elevate metabolism and trigger fat burning.
Milk
Milk raises metabolism and initiates fat burning. Milk is a very rich source of complex carbohydrates that boost metabolism and keep insulin levels low. High insulin levels tell your body to store fat. Milk is also a tremendous source of calcium, which also significantly raises metabolism. According to researchers at the University of Tennessee, a dietary source of calcium accelerates weight loss and promotes the break down of fat. The results of this study reveal the importance of diary products in the prevention and treatment of obesity.
Oats
Oats are another food that can significantly elevate metabolism and burn fat. According to the "New York Daily News," oats are a very good source of dietary fiber that naturally boost metabolism. In addition, oats are digested very slowly, keeping insulin level of your body low. Low insulin content in the body triggers fat burning and elevates metabolism.
Jalapenos/Chili Peppers
Spicy foods such as jalapeno peppers and habanero peppers burn fat and elevate metabolism. Chili peppers contain a chemical called capsaicin. The capsaicin content of chili peppers determine the overall heat content of the pepper. The greater concentration of capsaicin in the peppers, the hotter the pepper. The hotter the pepper, the greater the benefit of fat burning and increased metabolism. A study performed at Laval University in Quebec,Canada reveals that the addition of red pepper to a daily dietary intake increased fat burning and promoted the breakdown of fats after a meal high in fat.
