Fatty foods taste good, but eating them too often can create lifelong health problems. The fat content in your daily diet takes the place of other, more beneficial minerals, vitamins and fiber that your body needs for healthy function.
The FDA considers food portions with 13 g or more of the 65 g total daily fat value "high content." Knowing which menu items have high fat will allow you to eat them only occasionally, as treats.

Chocolate Chips

Processed or fast foods made from several ingredients with high fat content will send your fat and calorie totals through the roof. If you're the type to eat chocolate chips by the handful, consider that the USDA Nutrient Database lists white chocolate and semisweet chocolate chip candies as numbers one and two among fatty foods, with 55 g and 50 g of total fat each per 1 cup.

Breakfast Sandwiches

The same multiple-ingredients rule goes for most of the top fatty foods. A biscuit, egg and sausage sandwich delivers 37 g of fat, and that's without cheese. The American Diabetes Association points out that biscuits or croissants have much more fat than buns, bread or English muffins.

Double-Meat Hamburgers

The American Heart Association notes that a healthy serving of meat is 3 oz. at most, and most fast-food burgers have more than that in just one patty. A double-patty burger without cheese or bacon has 32 g of fat, according to the USDA.

Tacos

While tacos seem like a healthy choice among fast foods, they derive fat from meat, beans, cheese, corn, fried tortillas and extras such as sour cream and guacamole. A regular large taco has 32 g of fat, reports the USDA.

French Fries

Potatoes greedily absorb oil when commercially fried, making french fries a top fat threat. The American Heart Association relates that super-sizing is even worse, noting that a large order of fries contains 29 g of fat.

Fried Clams

Fried fish or meats make the top-10 fatty foods roster, with breaded and fried clams, chicken sandwiches and shrimp containing as much as 29 g of fat. The American Diabetes Association suggests grilled or broiled seafood and meats instead.

Submarine Sandwiches

Another misleading selection among fast foods are tuna salad submarine sandwiches. As the USDA reports, these get their 28 g of fat content from an oversized 6-inch roll, fish, and mayo made with eggs and oil.

Pork Spareribs

Exceeding portion sizes at home can make fatty meats more detrimental to your health. Just 3 oz. of pork spareribs have 26 g of fat, as per the USDA.

French Toast Sticks

French toast sticks don't represent the wisest breakfast choice in fast foods. The USDA reports that just 5 sticks have 25 g of total fat.

Cheese Danish

Like french toast sticks, the high fat content of cheese danishes is just the beginning of their unhealthy ingredients. According to the USDA, commercial danish pastries' 25 g of fat are accompanied by substantial salt and sugar.
