A 1-oz slice of Colby Jack cheese, according to the USDA National Nutrient Database for Standard Reference has about 112 calories.
Calorie Composition
Each ounce of Colby Jack cheese weighs about 28 grams. Of these, 11 grams are from water, 7 are from protein, 9 are from fat and 1 is from carbohydrates. The sugar content is negligible. This means that about 32 calories come from protein and carbohydrates, while about 80 calories come from fat. Because more than 70 percent of the calories in a slice of Colby Jack cheese come from fat, you should eat it in moderation.
Other Nutrients
Colby Jack cheese does offer some nutritional value. A slice of it gives you calcium, phosphorus, potassium, zinc, Vitamin A and some amino acids, but the McKinley Health Center at the University of Illinois warns that this type of cheese, which is made with whole milk or cream, contain an excessive amount of fat, and they recommend that you substitute with lower fat cheese products like mozzarella, dry parmesan or reduced fat cheeses.
