Pink salmon is the smallest and most delicately flavored variety of salmon. Pink salmon also has a lower fat content than most other varieties of salmon, although dog salmon has the lowest fat content.

The same serving of pink salmon has 24.58 g of protein and 5.28 g of fat, making the calorie composition 64 percent protein and 36 percent fat. Saturated fat comprises just over 18 percent of the total fat content, but pink salmon is also a rich source of heart-healthy omega-3 fatty acids. A 100 g serving of pink salmon also has 90 mg of sodium and 55 mg of cholesterol.
