Bladder cancer is a cancerous tumor in the bladder, a muscular sac that collects and stores your urine until you are ready to let it out. Bladder cancer is a significant cause of illness and death, which most commonly occurs in men who are close to their 70s, although it can develop in people as young as in their 20s. Men are three to four times more likely than women to develop bladder cancer. Most bladder cancers are potentially curable if found and treated early. Emerging scientific evidence supports the use of Ayurvedic herbs as a treatment for bladder cancer, but consult your doctor before considering any herbal treatments.
Garlic
Allium sativum, commonly known as garlic, is a hardy perennial member of the Amaryllis family. Garlic has been cultivated for thousands of years and is widely used for culinary and medicinal purposes by many cultures around the world. Researchers suggest that higher intakes of fresh garlic have been linked with significant reductions in risk of bladder cancer, according to Herbal Safety. Garlic is a particularly rich source of organosulfur compounds, such as allicin, which may have particular value in protection against bladder cancer. Organosulfur compounds also give garlic its characteristic pungent smell.
Green Tea
Green tea is a widely consumed beverage, which is made by infusing boiling water with dried leaves of Camellia sinensis plant, an evergreen shrub of the Theaceae family. Green tea is of growing interest because of its anti-cancer properties. Green tea extract is a source of polyphenol compounds, commonly known as catechins, which have antioxidant properties and have been shown to have some preventive effects against bladder cancer, according to University of California.
Astragalus
Astragalus, which is commonly referred to as huang chi, has been used for health purposes for thousands of years in China. The root of astragalus is a natural source of various antioxidant phytochemicals and is typically used to prepare medicine. A few epidemiological studies support a role for astragalus in cancer protection, such as bladder cancer, but this is far from the definitive, according to DePaul University. Astragalus strengthens your body's immune system.
