The Swix company creates products and tools used for snowboarding as well as the various genres of snow skiing. According to Swix Sport, the corporation originally focused on producing new formulas of skiing waxes and began producing them in 1943. Swix manufactures a tool that allows you to maintain the edges of your snowboard. Harsh riding terrain can wear down your edges and reduce the maneuverability of your snowboard. Utilize the Swix edge tool to ensure your snowboard remains stabilized during sharp turns across the mountain face.

Step 1

Fasten the snowboard clamps onto the edges of your waxing table. Place your snowboard sideways into the clamps. Rotate the clamp handles to secure your snowboard to the waxing table. Rub around the edges of your snowboard with a black marker to make it easy to see if the edge sharpening has been successful.

Step 2

Insert the corresponding file into the file holder of your Swix snowboard edge tool. Make sure the teeth of the file have been exposed. Rotate the Swix tool to ensure the file remains parallel with the top of your waxing table. Place the file onto the top edge of your snowboard.

Step 3

Rub the file back and forth to sharpen the edge. Examine the edge to guarantee that the coloring of the magic marker has been removed. Place your snowboarding wet stone onto the side of your newly sharpened edge. Rub the wet stone down the length of the edge to remove any particles or unwanted residue.

Step 4

Remove the sharpening file from the file holder of your Swix edge tool. Insert an appropriately sized wet stone into the file holder to initiate the edge polishing process. Place the snowboarding wet stone onto the top of your sharpened edge. Rub the wet stone back and forth to remove any nicks or steel burs that have formed around the edge.

Step 5

Loosen the clamps from around the bottom edge of your snowboard. Rotate your board and place it back into the snowboarding clamps. Repeat the sharpening and polishing process with the opposing edge of your snowboard. Perform these techniques on a regular basis to ensure your snowboard does not slide out on hard packed snow.
