Varieties

Cream cheese is available plain or in flavors, including fruit, salmon, peppers, vegetables or herbs. One ounce of plain cream cheese equals 2 tablespoons, which is enough for a generous spread on a regular-size bagel. Cutting the amount of cream cheese to 1 tablespoon will save about 50 calories.

Low-Fat Options

Cream cheese is also available in low-fat and fat-free varieties. Low-fat cream cheese contains 65 calories and 5 g of fat per ounce. Fat-free cream cheese contains 27 calories and 0 g of fat per ounce.
