Revitol Corporation manufactures a line of products called Revitol Natural Skin Care. Products include acne treatment, stretch mark removal, cellulite reduction, anti-wrinkle solutions, eye cream and more. Revitol products generally are inexpensive compared to similar skin care items and contain ingredients recognized as effective. Revitol products do have some cons, however.
Side Effects
The Revitol acne treatment system, Acnezine, contains two ingredients that may cause side effects. The topical solution contains benzoyl peroxide, which may cause skin irritation with dryness, mild stinging sensations and redness. The Acnezine oral supplement contains hyaluronic acid for skin health. Ray Sahelian, a medical doctor specializing in natural supplements, comments that he has received several reports of skin rashes associated with hyaluronic acid supplements.
Common Ingredients
Ingredients in Revitol products are common in many other skin care items, and might not provide more unique benefits. Retinol advertises its Cellulite Solution as containing revolutionary ingredients, as explained by the Cellulite Treatment website, but the ingredients are common to other cellulite creams. These ingredients are not likely to produce the dramatic effects shown on the Revitol website, according to Cellulite Treatment. Revitol Eye Cream also does not contain more advanced anti-aging ingredients than found in other products, as noted by BeautyAndHealthcare.org. Additionally, the active ingredient in the topical Acnezine solution is benzoyl peroxide, a very common acne treatment ingredient.
Time Factor
Revitol Cellulite Solution must be applied three to four times a day, according to Cellulite Treatment, and takes a long time to show results. The company's Complete Anti-Wrinkle Solution requires three steps before putting on make-up, taking 10 to 20 minutes each time, as explained by AntiAging-Health.
Financial Considerations
Although Revitol offers a money-back guarantee, this only applies to unopened containers, causing some disgruntlement from consumers who do not like the product. For unopened items, customers must fill out a form to request the refund, and Revitol also reserves the right to deny a refund. The Better Business Bureau (BBB) gives Revitol a "B+" rating with the only negative comments concerning its financial practices with customers. Revitol sometimes enrolls customers in a monthly program to receive products at reduced prices until the customer cancels. This practice leads to unwanted products sent to consumers and unauthorized charges appearing on credit cards. The BBB notes that Revitol has not properly addressed one or more complaints.
