The fishing within Massachusetts is spectacular, according to Massachusetts Department of Fish and Rehoboth, Mass., located about 50 miles southeast of Boston, is no exception. No matter if your preference is bass, trout or even salmon, you are sure to find stunning scenery in which to relax while you fish both in and around Rehoboth. However, anglers need to concern themselves with the fish advisory that are specific to the state and Rehoboth area.
Lake Sabbatia
Lake Sabbatia is a beautiful little spot just outside of Rehoboth, and carries a wide variety of fish ranging from largemouth bass, blue sunfish, strawberry bass, and white perch, to name but a few. It is the largest freshwater lake in Taunton, Mass., and undoubtedly one of the most popular. Playing host to several coves and an island within the lake, the coastline is partly populated by woods and residential areas. You are sure to be able to find something to keep you and your fishing buddies happy here. Various recreational activities apart from fishing are to be found on the lake, so if you want to take a break from relaxing, you can go and find something else to do such as boating or swimming. With the boat ramp available off Bay Street into the lake, you are not just limited to bank fishing, but can go further out in search of "the big one."
Fall's Pond
Fall's Pond is found just outside of Rehoboth. Small and largemouth bass, white perch, northern pike as well as green and redbreast sunfish and more are readily available to fish here. There is a small parking area and a ramp suitable for unloading your canoe or car-top boat. In springtime the pond is stocked with catchable rainbow trout and brook, and if pan-fishing is your thing then you will be successful even if the fish are not that large.
Prospect Hill Pond
Prospect Hill Pond is another idyllic setting for you with its 42 acres of shallow warm water and its average depth of 4 to 7 feet. It has 1.2 miles of shoreline that makes for some beautiful spots for shoreline fishers, but it also has access for you to launch your canoe or car-top boat. Even though this pond is shallow, it is said to be fertile and offers very good fishing opportunities if you want to catch largemouth bass, bluegill panfish and chain pickerel. You may find fishing and boating during the summer months a little harder due to an abundance of aquatic vegetation.
