Healthy foods are foods that contain little fat and a significant amount of fiber. For those who are dieting, low-calorie foods are important for weight loss. Foods that contain a low fat, low calorie and high fiber content may be the best foods to eat. Including these foods in your diet can help you to maintain a good state of health, providing you also adhere to other healthy lifestyle practices.

Beans

Although beans may not be considered by many to be low in calories, in and around 200 calories a cup is not a lot of calories when you consider that 1 cup of beans can be a meal in itself. Beans are high in fiber and very low in fat content, and beans that total not much more than 200 calories a cup, or under, include mungo beans, which have 189 calories, 1g of fat and 12g of fiber; great northern beans, which contain 208 calories, 1g of fat and 12g of fiber; lima beans, which contain 216 calories, 1g of fat and 13g of fiber; red kidney beans, which have 224 calories, 1g of fat and 13g of fiber; and black beans, which total 227 calories, 1g of fat and 15g of fiber. All beans mentioned are boiled.

Whole Grains

One cup of whole grains can make a satisfying meal. Whole grain foods that are low in fat and calories and high in fiber include cooked oat bran, which has 87 calories, 2g of fat and 6g of fiber; raw wheat bran, which has 125 calories, 2g of fat and 25g of fiber; cooked whole-wheat spaghetti, which has 173 calories, 1g of fat and 6g of fiber; and cooked pearled barley, which has 193 calories, 1g of fat and 6g of fiber.

Fruits

Fruits that are under 100 calories per cup, low in fat and high fiber include chopped raw cranberries, which have 50 calories, no fat and 5g of fiber; strawberry slices, which contain 53 calories, no fat and 3g of fiber; raw papaya, which contains 54 calories, no fat and 3g of fiber; blackberries, which contain 61 calories, 1g of fat and 8g of fiber; raspberries, which have 63 calories, 1g of fat and 8g of fiber; apple pieces, which contain 65 calories, no fat and 3g of fiber; raw peaches, which contain 66 calories, no fat and 3g of fiber; apricot slices, which contain 79 calories, 1g of fat and 3g of fiber; blueberries, which contain 82 calories, no fat and 3g of fiber; and raw sweet cherries, which have 91 calories, no fat and 3g of fiber.

Vegetables

Vegetables that are under 50 calories per 1-cup serving, low in fat and high in fiber include raw cauliflower, which contains 25 calories, no fat and 3g of fiber; collard greens, which have 26 calories, no fat and 3g of fiber; raw asparagus, which contains 26 calories, no fat and 3g of fiber; raw green pepper, which contains 29 calories, no fat and 3 grams of fiber; raw green snap beans, which contain 34 calories, no fat and 4g of fiber; boiled turnips, which contains 35 calories, no fat and 3g of fiber; and boiled kale, which contains 36 calories, 1g of fat and 3g of fiber.
