In 2013, Americans spent more than $60 billion a year trying to lose weight, according to Marketresearch.com. Isopure is a nutrition supplement company that offers a variety of products, although none specifically marketed for weight loss. However, the line offers a few powders and drinks that can work as part of a weight-loss diet. Consult your doctor before attempting to lose weight or using any dietary supplements.

Meal Replacement Mix

Meal replacement drinks can help control calorie intake when you're trying to lose weight. Isopure offers a few meal replacement options that may help limit and control intake. These products contain 210 calories to 300 calories per serving.

Each serving of one of these meal replacement products also meets 50 percent of the daily value for more than 20 essential vitamins and minerals. The lower-calorie meal replacement product is also low in carbs, with 10 grams per serving.

Choosing a portion-controlled meal replacement drink offers a more diet-friendly alternative to hitting the vending machine, so the shakes may help you stick to your diet goals.

Protein Powders

If you're trying to get more protein in your diet, Isopure has a number of options. Perfect Whey and Isopure Whey Protein Isolate Unflavored are the lower-calorie options, each with 110 calories per serving. Javapro, which is a whey protein mix with coffee, is also lower in calories, with 110 calories per serving, and it also contains 80 milligrams of caffeine.

Low-Cal Drinks

Most of the Isopure ready-to-drink beverages contain 100 or more calories per serving. The TNTEA, however, contains zero calories, and it has 200 milligrams of caffeine. MedlinePlus says, in general, most adults can handle up to 400 milligrams of caffeine a day.

If you're drinking a number of other caffeinated beverages, such as coffee or tea, you may experience ill effects such as sleeplessness, anxiety, nausea or frequent urination. Limit your caffeine intake from other sources on the days you drink TNTEA to avoid any side effects.

Considerations

Though the Isopure products may assist in your weight-loss efforts, you should still follow a balanced diet that includes plenty of whole foods. Weight loss is about moving more and eating less. Use the Isopure products as a substitute for whole foods when you're short on time or don't have access to healthy foods.
