Cellulite gives the surface of the skin a bumpy and dimpled appearance. This condition occurs as a result of fat deposits emerging through the connective tissue under the skin. Although cellulite can appear often on the buttocks and thighs, the legs can be affected as well. Cellulite is very common, but there are methods you can use to get rid of it.
Step 1
Lose weight. Losing weight can often help eliminate the appearance of cellulite on the legs. Ask your doctor for a diet recommendation in order to help you safely achieve weight loss.
Step 2
Include aerobic activity into your daily routine. Spend at least 30 minutes either walking, jogging or cycling. These activities can help remove cellulite from your legs.
Step 3
Work the muscles in your legs in order to remove cellulite from this area. Toned legs can eliminate cellulite or dramatically reduce the appearance of the skin condition. Some exercises you can perform include squats, leg lifts, lunges and kickbacks. According to Prevention Magazine, you should do one set of 10-15 reps at least three times a week to help eliminate cellulite.
Step 4
Schedule a massage. Arrange for a massage treatment that focuses on your leg cellulite. The treatment is often referred to as lipomassage and is intended to help break up the fat deposits that cause the cellulite to appear.
Step 5
Set up an appointment with a plastic surgeon if you are unable to get rid of the cellulite on your legs with home treatments. There are several techniques, including laser therapy, that a plastic surgeon can use to remove leg cellulite.
