The health benefits of the antioxidants in dark chocolate are becoming well-known. Lindt makes several dark chocolate products that provide these benefits. However, because of the high fat and sugar content of chocolate, it should be enjoyed in moderation.

Definition

The amount of cocoa solids determines the darkness and intensity of a bar of chocolate. The higher the percentage of cocoa solids the less sugar is used to make the chocolate. For example, the Lindt Excellence 90 percent cocoa bar has 3 g sugar per serving, while the 70 percent bar contains 12 g sugar in each serving.

Truffles

Lindt truffles are sold under the brand Lindor and two of the most popular varieties are dark chocolate and extra dark. Three truffles comprise one serving. One serving of dark chocolate truffles contains 220 calories. Extra dark chocolate truffles have 210 calories in each serving.

Bars

Lindt makes dark chocolate bars in varying strengths from 50 percent cocoa solids to 99 percent cocoa solids. The Excellence 70 percent cocoa bar has the most calories -- 250 per serving. The Excellence 50 percent and 99 percent cocoa bars are the lowest at 200 calories per serving.
