Tortillas are round, flour-based wraps that are used for burritos, soft-shell tacos and many other Mexican foods. Because of their similarity to bread, they can be used to make wraps for a new twist on sandwiches.

Calories

The nutrition information resource MyFitnessPal indicates that one 8-inch flour tortilla contains 140 calories. If you base your daily calorie intake on the suggested 2,000 calories, then one tortilla provides 7 percent of your daily calories. MyFitnessPal notes that two slices of wheat bread contain 200 calories, so using a tortilla instead may be a diet-friendly option.
