The 3-Day Weight Loss Diet has been passed around through the years and promises quick results. The plan is straightforward: stay on the diet for three days and then take a four-day break. The origins of this diet are unknown but it has been suggested that this diet is what a well-known Birmingham, Alabama hospital uses for their cardiac patients before surgery.
Step 1
Consult your Physician before starting the 3-Day Weight Loss Diet.
Step 2
Follow the menu for day one. For breakfast, have one half of a grapefruit, one slice of toast, one tbsp. of peanut butter and black coffee or tea. For lunch, have one half cup of tuna, one slice of toast and black coffee or tea. For dinner, you can have two slices of your choice of meat (3 oz.), one cup of string beans, one cup of carrots or beets, one small apple and one cup of vanilla ice cream.
Step 3
Follow this menu for day two. For breakfast, you can have one hard-boiled egg, one slice of toast, one half banana and black coffee or tea. For lunch, you are allowed one cup cottage cheese or one half cup of tuna and five saltine crackers. For dinner, enjoy two wieners, one cup of cabbage or broccoli, one half cup of carrots or turnip Greens, one half banana and one cup of vanilla ice cream.
Step 4
Follow this menu for Day three. For breakfast, you can have one hard-boiled egg, one slice of toast, one half banana and black coffee or tea. For lunch, have one slice of cheddar cheese, five saltine crackers, one small apple and black coffee or tea. For dinner, you can have one cup of tuna, one cup of carrots or beets, one cup of green beans or cauliflower, one cup of cantaloupe or one small apple and one cup of vanilla ice cream.
Step 5
Eat regularly for the next four days. Do not overeat and limit your soda intake.
Step 6
Start back with the day one menu after your four-day break.
Tips and Warnings
- You must follow the diet exactly. Do not substitute any foods for those listed on the diet plan.
- Only use this diet for a total of three days each week. You must have four days of regular eating before you repeat the steps.
