Mixed drinks can quickly add up in calories. Reduce calories in your cocktails by using diet sodas, light juices, and making a wine spritzer instead of consuming a full glass of wine.

Vodka Drinks

An 8-oz. vodka Collins contains around 122 calories. A vodka gimlet has a few more calories, approximately 132. If you prefer martinis, one 3.5-oz serving has about 140 calories contained in the alcohol. Garnishes, such as olives or maraschino cherries, increase the caloric content.

Additional Liquors

Whiskey sours have around 122 calories per 3-oz. serving, while a tequila sunrise may have as many as 200 calories for each 6-oz. cocktail. Keep an eye on the serving size if you are watching calories. Some bars may make their drinks in a double size. For example, if your 3-oz. whiskey sour is a double, it will be 6 oz. and contain 244 calories.

Frozen Drinks

Frozen drinks can be high in calories, especially if you like them topped with whipped cream. A 6-oz. daiquiri has around 180 calories. If you like chocolate, your frozen mudslide can contain as many as 500 calories per 8-oz. serving.
