Riesling is a variety of white wine. It originated in the Rhine region of Germany. Riesling grapes can be used to make a wide range of wine styles, from sweet to dry. Wine made from Riesling grapes usually has aromas of fruit, flowers and sometimes honey.

Riesling Wine

One serving of white wine is 5 oz. A glass of Riesling white wine contains 118 calories, 6 carbohydrates, 14 g of alcohol and no protein, sugars or fiber. No cholesterol or sodium is in Riesling wine.

White Wine

The U.S. Department of Agriculture Nutrient Database lists the information for Riesling and generic white wine. Riesling has slightly fewer calories. One 5-oz. glass of generic white wine contains 121 calories, 4 carbohydrates, 2 g of sugars, 15 g of alcohol and no fat or protein.

Considerations

The calories and nutritional content of a Riesling white wine will vary among wine makers. A Riesling from two wineries may have different calorie values. Riesling wine does not contain significant amounts of iron, calcium or vitamin C.
