Protein drinks can help you incorporate protein into your diet. Protein drinks are a common protein supplement among dieters and weight trainers. According to the Physician's Committee for Responsible Medicine, the recommended protein intake for an adult is .36 g/lb. of body weight. If you consume protein drinks often, buying organic will help keep you healthy by avoiding synthetic pesticides, fertilizers and genetically modified organisms, which are not allowed in certified organic products.

Smoothie

Find organic protein smoothies fresh made at certain health foods stores that have juice bars. You can also find packaged organic protein smoothies that are based in fruits, vegetables or a combination of both. They are based in organic yogurt, nut milk, soymilk or real milk, which can add some protein, but they usually contain an additional protein of organic soy, whey, hemp or spirulina. If they are sweetened it is usually with organic sugar, agave nectar, evaporated cane juice or honey. You can make your own organic protein smoothie. Add organic fruits such as frozen strawberries, blueberries, acai berries, bananas and mango. Add ¼ cup of a fruit juice of your preference and 1 cup of organic yogurt and one serving of any of the protein options mentioned.

Shakes

If you enjoy chocolate, vanilla or other rich flavors, try an organic protein shake. You can make your own to mimic a typical decadent milkshake, which can cool you down after a workout. Put two scoops of organic chocolate or vanilla ice cream in a blender and add ¼ tsp. of organic vanilla extract. Add an organic protein supplement of your choice and 1 cup of organic milk and blend until creamy. If you want a more decadent shake, experiment with adding ingredients like ½ cup of organic peanut butter, 3 tbsp. of organic chocolate syrup and an organic banana. If you have a vanilla base and want a tropical flavor, add an organic banana, ½ cup shredded organic coconut and 3/4 cup chopped organic pineapple.

Juices

Buy an organic protein drink at certain health food store that the store makes there. You can request for hemp seed as a protein supplement. As relayed by The Dr. Oz Show, hemp seeds have a pleasant nutty flavor and contain a high amount of protein per serving. When hulled, they are tiny and soft, almost a meal consistency, so they are easy to mix into drinks. Vegetable juices that contain dark leafy greens are a healthy option.
