One Ghirardelli chocolate square won't add too significantly to your daily calorie intake, but four squares are considered a serving, according to CalorieKing. The calories, fat and sugar in a whole serving can really add up, so enjoy in moderation.
Types
Ghirardelli makes several kinds of chocolate squares. Some squares are plain chocolate and some are filled. Fillings include caramel and mint.
Calories
A square of 60 percent dark chocolate and a square of milk chocolate with caramel filling each contain 55 calories. While a square of dark chocolate with white mint filling is 52.5 calories, there is very little difference in calories between flavors.
Nutrition
One serving of four squares of milk chocolate with caramel filling holds 12 g fat, 26 g carbohydrates and 80 mg calcium. A serving of 60 percent dark chocolate has more fat, coming in at 17 g, but there are health benefits to dark chocolate. According to Harvard Health Publications, dark chocolate can lower blood pressure and bad cholesterol levels.
