Concentrated orange juice diluted with water is a healthy alternative to soda or sugary drink. However, the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food and Nutrition Service recommends going easy on juices because they can contribute to dental cavities and may add excess calories to your diet.

Calorie Content

A 6-oz. can of undiluted concentrated orange juice contains 339 calories, and an 8-oz. cup of orange juice concentrate diluted with water contains 110 calories, according to the Calorie Database.

Carbohydrates

The 22 g of sugar in concentrated orange juice contributes 26 g of carbohydrates, or 9 percent of the daily value to your diet, according to the USDA's Food and Nutrition Service.

Nutrients

One diluted cup of concentrated orange juice provides 50 percent of your daily vitamin C. Regular concentrated orange juice is a poor source of calcium. However, calcium-fortified orange juice contains 20 percent to 26 percent of the daily value, according to the Office of Dietary Supplements.

Considerations

Read the ingredients label carefully if you buy diluted orange juice. Water and concentrated orange juice are the only ingredients in 100 percent orange juice. Avoid beverages labeled "orange juice drink," because they typically contain very little orange juice and are higher in sugar.
