Cybex International, Inc. produces high-quality fitness equipment that emphasizes proper biomechanics with minimal impact upon your body. The company markets a wide variety of products, including multi-station gyms, free motion trainers and virtual reality reaction training machines. The first products marketed by Cybex were designed for cardiovascular fitness, and the company's line of stationary bicycles, stair-steppers and arc trainers remain popular in fitness clubs.
Stationary Bicycle
Step 1
Mount the Cybex exercise bicycle and use the handlebars to steady yourself. Press one of the program buttons or the "Quick Start" button to turn on the machine.
Step 2
Press the up- and down-arrow keys to change the settings for your weight, workout time, resistance level, RPM, age and heartbeats per minute. Once each setting is properly selected, press the "Enter" key.
Step 3
Listen for a long tone to signal the start of the workout. Start pedaling as the timer for your workout begins to countdown. Press the "Level" plus or minus keys to increase or decrease the resistance setting.
Step 4
Press the "Pause/End" key to stop the program at any time. Wait until the pedals have completely stopped turning before dismounting the bike.
Stair-Stepper
Step 1
Center your feet on each of the Cybex stepper foot platforms. Place one hand on the handlebar for balance and use your free hand to press the "Manual" key or select one of the program modes.
Step 2
Press the up- or down-arrow key to change the default workout time. Press the "Enter" key when you reach your desired value. Press the up- or down-arrow keys again to choose your weight. Press "Enter" when the display shows your current weight.
Step 3
Press the "Start" button to begin the chosen workout program. Change the speed by pressing the up- or down-arrow key. To end the program, push down with both of your feet to return the pedals to their starting position and then dismount the machine.
Arc Trainer
Step 1
Grasp the handrails and step onto the Cybex arc trainer's foot platforms. Press a program key or the "Quick Start" key to enter manual mode.
Step 2
Press the up- or down-arrow key to select your desired workout time, weight and resistance levels for the program you chose. Press the "+" or "-" buttons to automatically adjust the resistance level in accordance with your weight.
Step 3
Begin jogging forward on the arc trainer pedal. Adjust the resistance setting further if necessary. Press the "Incline" buttons up or down to change the incline setting as desired. Press the "Pause/End" key to stop the workout at any time.
Step 4
Wait for the foot platforms to come to a complete stop and dismount the machine when your workout is complete.
