Calories in Sweet Tarts Candy

Sweet Tarts are a hard or chewy candy made by Wonka. Each roll contains a variety of flavors, and each piece of candy is both sweet and a bit sour. This candy comes in several varieties.

Calories

A serving of regular, hard Sweet Tarts is considered eight pieces of candy. There are 50 calories per serving of regular Sweet Tarts. Sweet Tarts are also now available in a giant chewy variety. For the large chewy candy, one piece is considered a serving, and each piece contains 40 calories.

Packaging

The hard candy Sweet Tarts are the original, and they come in rolls or boxes. The newer, chewy variety come in a long, plastic wrapper.

Nutrition

Sweet Tarts are fat free and sodium free. They do, however, contain a good deal of sugar, at 13 g per serving for traditional Sweet Tarts and 7 g per serving for the large, chewy variety, which is only one piece of candy. The American Heart Association suggests that women consume no more than 25 g of added sugar a day, and that men not go over 37.5 g. The high sugar content of Sweet Tarts cuts significantly into the daily sugar allowance for most adults.
