Calories in Salmon Croquettes

Salmon croquettes are a type of patty made with fresh salmon mixed with breading, eggs and seasonings and typically are pan fried. A good source of calories from proteins, salmon croquettes also provide healthy omega-3 fatty acids.

Calories

According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, a single salmon croquette provides 264 calories. Around 143 calories come from fats, while proteins provide 65 calories and carbohydrates contribute 56 calories.

Components

The USDA also states that a single salmon croquette weighs around 120 g. Of that measure, 16 g are proteins, 15 g are fats and 14 g are carbohydrates. Water and other nutrients make up the remainder.

Nutrients

A single salmon croquette provides many important vitamins including riboflavin, niacin, folate and vitamins C, D, E, K, B6 and B12. Essential dietary minerals are also available in a serving and include calcium, copper, iron, magnesium, phosphorus, selenium, zinc and potassium.

Considerations

MayoClinic.com indicates that eating fish with high levels of omega-3 fatty acids may help to lower cholesterol levels in the bloodstream and also reduce the risk of heart disease. The Colorado State University Extension indicates that salmon is high in omega-3 fatty acids.
