Bravo Brio Restaurant Group owns and operates several Italian restaurants across American including Bravo! Cucina Italiana, Brio Tuscan Grille and Bon Vie Bistro. Each full-service restaurant serves foods from an Italian-inspired menu in a casual or fine casual dining atmosphere. By serving similar dishes, the nutrition information for Brio restaurants is similar, but several considerations can affect calories and nutritional content.

Types

Food types at Brio restaurants follow Italian-style dishes and are separated into different menus such as dinner, lunch and dessert. Additional menu options include brunch menus used on Saturdays and Sundays, dessert menus and wine menus. Along with the traditional dishes such as pastas and sandwiches, each Brio restaurant serves a variety of specialty dishes. Bon Vie Bistro, for example, serves a shepherd's pie, macaroni and cheese and bistro burgers while the Brio Tuscan Grille features smoked chicken and portabello bruschetta and a seasonal Tuscan harvest salad.

Features

Every Brio restaurant features ingredients delivered fresh daily along with homemade pasta dishes, and the cooks use authentic Italian cooking methods to create the specific taste for each dish. Pasta dishes are made with Barilla Plus pasta containing multi-grain ingredients. Other common features used by Brio restaurants include bread, sauces and cheese.

Size

Nutritional and caloric content varies according to the ingredients, cooking methods and serving size for each dish. Entrees can range from around 500 calories to more than 1,000 calories. For example, shrimp fra diavolo from Bravo! Cucina Italiana contains 1,150 calories per serving including 73 grams of fat, 83 grams of carbohydrates and 35 grams of protein. The garganelli carbonara from Brio Tuscan Grille, however, contains 427 calories including 12 grams of fat, 66 grams of carbohydrates and 41 grams of protein.

Benefits

Using the Barilla Plus pasta gives the pasta dishes at Brio restaurants several benefits, including 40 percent more protein than regular pasta, heart-healthy omega-3 fatty acids and lower fat content than other protein sources such as beef or chicken. The pasta also provides significant amounts of dietary fiber, vitamins and minerals. One serving of the pasta Mediterranean at Bravo!, for example, contains 1 grams of dietary fiber and 140 milligrams of potassium.

Considerations

Reducing caloric content can be easily achieved by making slight adjustments to your order. If you choose a salad, order the dressing or sauces to be put on the side. Avoiding appetizers or desserts can significantly reduce fat, carbohydrates and calories.
