When you have dark circles under the eyes, you can look older and worn out. Although lifestyle changes, such as more sleep and treating nasal congestion can get rid of dark circles, you can also try topical creams that contain vitamin K, like Vita-K Solution for Dark Circles. If the Vita-K Solution is not helpful, speak to your doctor about other possible remedies for dark circles, including topical retinoids and laser therapy.

Features

Vita-K Solution for Dark Circles is a topical under-eye treatment product manufactured by Woodridge Labs. Active ingredients in Vita-K Solution include vitamin K and mica. The manufacturer claims you will see a visible reduction in dark circles with continued use of the product. You can find the product sold through retailers, such as Ulta, Amazon.com and Drugstore.com.

Benefits

Instead of concealing dark circles, Fitness Magazine recommends you use products to prevent the formation of the blemishes. The publication recommends that you use creams with vitamin K, like Vita-K Solution, as a way to lighten up pigmentation under the eyes. The manufacturer advertises that regular application of Vita-K Solution also improves the tone of the skin by the inclusion of mica as an active ingredient.

Prevention/Solution

To use Vita-K Solution, you should first cleanse the skin. Pat the face dry and apply small dots of the cream to the under-eye area. Gently massage the cream into the skin. Do not rinse off and allow the cream to dry before applying any other skin care products. The manufacturer recommends you use the cream twice a day for at least four to six weeks.

Expert Insight

According to a study published in a 2004 issue of the "Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology," topical vitamin K may be an effective remedy for dark circles. During the eight-week study, participants were required to use a gel that contains 2 percent vitamin K and 0.1 percent retinol, vitamin E and vitamin C. Out of the participants, 47 percent reported an improvement in the appearance of dark under-eye circles.

Warning

You may develop an adverse reaction when using Vita-K Solution on the skin for treatment of dark circles. Discontinue use if you note any skin sensitivity after application. According to the American Cancer Society, in rare cases, allergic reactions can occur as a result of topical vitamin K. Symptoms may include swelling, redness and a rash.
