Counting Calories at Disney World

While you are on vacation in Walt Disney World, it's easy to neglect a healthful, low-calorie diet. With some forethought, however, it is possible to enjoy your meals while keeping your waistline intact.

Plan

Look at the menus available at the various restaurants before your trip. By making a plan before you go, you can decide which low-calorie meals you will eat, and which treats you will splurge on.

Asking For Help

According to the Walt Disney World website, you can have dietary requests honored at most of the table service restaurants in the resort. If you need to avoid certain high-calorie ingredients, call at least 48 hours before your reservation. If you are in the restaurant, speak to the server about your wish to keep your meal low-calorie.

Considerations

Remember that you will be walking extensively during your stay at Walt Disney World. Because of this, you might need to increase your daily caloric intake. Try to do this by eating larger quantities of fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains and low-fat dairy products.
