Proper skin care is the key to the healing and prevention of facial acne, according to the American Academy of Dermatology. However, harsh cleansers and topical treatments may irritate the skin and make your acne worse. Used for centuries to heal wounds, green tea may also help to heal acne. Perhaps best known for its distinctive scent, jasmine also has antiseptic and antibiotic properties that may help to kill bacteria and soften the skin. Used in combination with a gentle cleansing each morning and night, a jasmine and green tea mask may help to heal existing pimples and prevent further outbreaks.
Step 1
Cut the top from the green tea and jasmine tea bag, and pour the contents of each bag into a small bowl.
Step 2
Use a coffee grinder or mortar and pestle to blend the teas into a fine powder.
Step 3
Return the tea powder to the bowl and add enough organic honey to form a thick paste.
Step 4
Wash your face with a mild cleanser and pat dry. Apply a thick layer of the tea mask to your cheeks, forehead, nose and chin, being careful to avoid the eye area.
Step 5
Leave the mixture on your face for 20 minutes. Rinse off with tepid water and pat dry with a soft hand towel.
Tips and Warnings
- 1 or 2 drops of jasmine essential oil can be substituted for the jasmine tea. For best results apply the tea acne mask two or three times each week.
