GNC's Pro Performance Weight Gainer 2200 Gold protein powder is used primarily as a weight-gain supplement. It claims to help people who are active or who have fast metabolisms gain lean muscle mass (See reference 1). Pro Performance is marketed as a nutritional supplement; like all supplements, you should read and understand the nutrition facts before consuming it.

Calories and Macronutrients

According to the GNC website, Pro Performance contains approximately 1,840 calories per serving. A serving is considered to be three scoops using the scoop provided in the container, which is equal to 485 g. One serving can provide your body with 50 g of protein, 404 g of carbohydrates, and 2.5 g of fat.

Vitamins

Pro Performance harbors multiple vitamins, including 1500 I.U. of vitamin A, or 30 percent of the daily value; vitamin C, with 18 mg or 30 percent DV; vitamin D, with 100 I.U. or 25 percent DV; vitamin E, with 6 I.U. or 20 percent DV; thiamin, with .45 mg or 30 percent DV; riboflavin, with 1.7 mg or 100 percent DV, niacin, with 6 mg or 30 percent DV; vitamin B6, with .6 mg or 30 percent DV; folic acid, with 200 mcg or 50 percent DV, vitamin B12, with 4.8 mcg or 80 percent DV; biotin, with 60 mcg or 20 percent DV; and pantothenic acid, with 3 mg or 30 percent DV.

Minerals

GNC's Pro Performance can also provide your body with many essential minerals, including calcium, with 500 mg or 50 percent DV; iron, with 1.08 mg or 6 percent DV; phosphorus, with 400 mg or 40 percent DV; magnesium, with 120 mg or 30 percent DV; zinc, with 4.5 mg or 30 percent DV; copper, .8 mg or 40 percent DV; manganese, with .4 mg or 20 percent DV; chromium, with 60 mcg or 50 percent DV; molybdenum, with 45 mcg or 60 percent DV; sodium, with 500 mg or 21 percent DV; and potassium, with 500 mg or 14 percent DV.

Amino Acids

This weight gain supplement contains 18 different amino acids, all of which are needed for the synthesis and maintenance of muscle tissue. These amino acids are l-glutamine, with 9470 mg; leucine, with 4816 mg; isoleucine, with 2654 mg; valine, with 3092 mg; tryptophan, with 887 mg; threonine, with 2585 mg; lysine, with 3796 mg; phenylalanine, with 1998 mg; methionine, with 1217 mg; arginine, with 1638 mg; cystine, with 522 mg; tyrosine, with 1382 mg; histidine, with 1118 mg; proline, with 4361 mg; aspartic acid, with 4196 mg; serine, with 2841 mg; glycine, with 1220 mg; and alanine, with 2361 mg. None of these have a determined daily value.
