Just because you're trying to watch your weight doesn't mean you have to forgo dessert. Skinny Cow is one of many companies that makes low-calorie versions of favorite treats, such as the classic ice cream sandwich.
Low-Fat Sandwiches
Skinny Cow's take on the standard vanilla ice cream between two chocolate cookies has 140 calories, as does the one using chocolate ice cream, available in a mixed package with vanilla ones. The more exotic flavors, which include chocolate peanut butter, cookies 'n cream, mint and strawberry shortcake, all have 150 calories per sandwich.
Low-Sugar
The company also makes an ice cream sandwich that uses Splenda instead of added sugar. It comes in vanilla and has 140 calories.
Comparisons
The testers at "Bon Appetit" were tough on Skinny Cow's ice cream sandwiches, but the top choices had significantly more calories. The Big Daddy brand took the No. 1 spot, but it has 270 calories in one sandwich. Julie's Organic ranked second, and has 200 calories, while the third pick, Fat Boy, provides 220 calories.
