Huffy makes several different-sized basketball goals, but all have similar parts and set-up instructions. Each goal has wheels, axles and a base, pole, backboard, hoop and net. The goals also come with the necessary hardware -- bolts and screws. The pole comes in three pieces which snap together and can move up and down to adjust the height. The backboard can also move up and down as needed. The hoop can be replaced with a larger or smaller hoop, depending on the size of the basketball you use. These adjustments make Huffy basketball goals ideal for a large age range.

Step 1

Turn the base over, exposing the axle tabs. Place the wheels between the tabs and slide the axles into the hubs. Put a retainer clip at the end of each axle, using the hammer to secure them. Put the covers on the end of each axle. Turn the base over. Fill the base with sand or water.

Step 2

Place the angle iron backboard brackets in a V shape on the back of the backboard, where the pre-drilled holes are. Place the bolts through the front of the backboard into the brackets and tighten them with a wrench.

Step 3

Place the hoop bracket on the front of the backboard that is aligned with the pre-drilled holes. Place the bolts through the hoop bracket into the backboard bracket. Tighten them with the wrench.

Step 4

Attach the upper section of the pole to the backboard with the bolts through the pre-drilled holes. Tighten the bolts with the wrench. Attach the bottom section of the pole to the base by snapping the tabs into the holes in the base. Attach the stabilizer arms to the base and bottom section of the pole by placing bolts in the pre-drilled holes and tightening them with a wrench.

Step 5

Snap the middle section of the pole into the lower section. Snap the upper section of the pole into the middle section, with the hoop facing away from the wheels. Have someone help you lift the upper section of the pole and snap it into the middle section.

Step 6

Attach the net to the hoop by linking the rope loops into the metal loops on the hoop.
