Numerous herbs may be helpful in treating your frequent urination. Possible causes of frequent urination include infection, decreased tone in your pelvic region, certain cancer treatments and certain drug or beverages that stimulate urine production. Certain herbs may help treat your frequent urination, but talk with your doctor first about possible side effects, proper dosage and potential drug interactions.
Corn Silk
Corn silk is an herb that may be helpful in treating your frequent urination. Corn silk, also known as Zea mays, is native to the world's subtropical countries and is cultivated in warm climates. A member of the Poaceae family, corn silk has a sweet, mucilaginous taste and is used medicinally to treat numerous health problems, including frequent urination. Dr. Sharol Tilgner, a naturopathic physician and author of the book "Herbal Medicine From the Heart of the Earth," states that corn silk is an antibacterial and antiseptic that is toning and soothing for your bladder. Corn silk, notes Tilgner, is used to help treat enuresis, or bed-wetting, and helps restore normal tissue tone and function to your urinary tract. Before taking corn silk to help treat your frequent urination, talk with your doctor about possible side effects, proper dosage and potential drug interactions.
Cranberry
Cranberry is an herb that may be beneficial in treating your frequent urination. Cranberries are the fruit of a plant known as Vaccinium macrocarpon, which is native to North America. The berries of the plant are used as food and a medicine to help treat and prevent numerous health problems, including urinary tract infections, which are one of the most common causes of frequent urination. According to Dr. William A. Mitchell Jr., a naturopathic physician and author of the book "Plant Medicine in Practice," cranberry is a useful urinary tract antibacterial, as it prevents adherence of certain types of bacteria to the walls of your bladder. Mitchell notes that, if you are taking cranberry to help treat your urinary tract infection and frequent urination, drink plenty of water. As with any new treatment, before taking cranberry to help treat your frequent urination, talk with your doctor.

Uva ursi thrives in alpine forests throughout the world, including North America, Europe, Siberia and the Himalayas. Uva ursi, a member of the heath family, has an astringent and slightly sweet taste. The leaves of the plant are used medicinally.
