The Skinny Switch Secret is an online weight loss program developed by Rob Nevins. Nevins is a fitness expert with certification in Sports Nutrition and Weight Management through the International Fitness Professionals Association. Nevins claims that following his diet plan allows you to lose weight quickly and keep it off. Speak to your doctor before starting any new diet.

Features

To join the program, you need to sign up for membership through the Skinny Switch Secret website. You pay weekly and must provide your current measurements along with your weight-loss goals. You are then given a customized menu to follow to follow the diet. Exercise is not required, but you are advised to maximize results by working out 30 minutes per day.

Schedule

For the first two days of the diet, you are provided with a low-calorie, balanced diet with foods intended to help you burn fat. The third day of the diet is considered a treat day and you are allowed to include some of your favorite foods into your meals, such as chocolate, pizza, ice cream and wine. You continue on this pattern until you reach your goal weight.

Low-Calorie Foods

On the low-calorie dieting days, you'll eat mostly low-carbohydrate and high-protein foods. Some foods allowed on the Skinny Switch Secret include vegetables, low-fat cheeses, fat-free yogurts, almonds, mixed fruits and lean proteins, such as chicken and turkey. You eat three meals per day and two snacks.

Claims

The diet claims that by eating foods in this three-day pattern, you will boost your metabolism and burn fat at a higher rate. However, it is important to keep in mind that there is no scientific evidence to support this claim. Reduced-calorie eating and regular exercise are instead recommended for weight loss by organizations like the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

Warning

Do not follow the Skinny Switch Secret if you suffer from any type of medical disorder. Modifications are not provided for individuals with heart disease or diabetes. Since you are allowed to eat high-fat foods on the diet, such as pizza, ice cream and steak, this may be detrimental to your health.
