Foods That Naturally Help You Lose Belly Fat

Excess belly fat is a common concern, especially for those trying to lose some. It can be difficult to find a natural and safe way to lose belly fat and to keep the weight off. However, certain foods will help you burn off annoying belly fat, especially when you exercise regularly.

Dairy Products

Recent studies, such as those performed at Purdue University and the University of Tennessee, have found that eating a diet that contains dairy products that are high in calcium helps you lose weight, especially around the belly. Eating calcium-rich foods, including cheese, milk and yogurt, three to four times a daily increases the rate at which you burn off fat cells. Consuming these foods regularly after dieting can help prevent weight gain. Take caution however, because dairy products can be high in fat. For the best results, choose foods that are low-fat or nonfat.

Legumes and Lentils

Eating beans and lentils will also help you lose belly fat. Foods high in soluble fiber and protein are effective dieting foods because they help you feel fuller longer and cleanse your body of unwanted toxins and fatty cells. Avoid refried or baked beans, which include fats and substances that aren't helpful in weight loss. Navy, white, kidney and lima beans are recommended. For a new twist, try steamed soybeans and eat them directly from the pod for a quick and fresh snack.

Eggs

Although an egg can be a controversial food when it comes to dieting, it can be a good option to help you lose belly fat. Eggs are high in protein, which takes time to break down so the body feels less hungry for longer. They also contain vitamin B12, which functions to break down fat cells. If you are concerned about cholesterol, remove the yolk before cooking the egg.
