The StairMaster StepMill can get your heart rate going and provide an effective aerobic workout. The StepMill burns approximately 350 calories in 60 minutes of activity for someone weighing 125 lbs. and 500 calories for a person weighing 185 lbs., according to Harvard Medical School.

Cardiovascular

Cardiovascular workouts help to prevent against dangerous medical conditions, such as heart disease, high blood pressure, stroke and Type 2 diabetes, according to the MayoClinic.com. Additionally, cardio workouts can help to keep the pounds off, boost your mood and allow you to sleep better at night.

Sculpted Legs

While your body is burning calories on the StepMill, your legs are also getting an extraordinary strength-training workout, according to Fitness Magazine. Your glutes, hamstrings, quads and calves will all be toned and sculpted.

Intervals

In order to maximize the calorie burn during your StairMaster StepMill workout, Fitness Magazine suggests incorporating intervals in your session. Once your legs are adequately warmed up, increase the intensity or speed for one to two minutes and then recover at a less intense pace for one minute. Repeat five to 10 times.
