Introduced in 1907 by the Hershey Chocolate Company, Hershey's Kisses are believed to have gotten their name from the "kissing" sound when the chocolate dropped from a machine that formed the candy's shape. Ingredients
Milk chocolate Hershey's Kisses contain sweet or semi-sweet chocolate, cocoa butter, sugar, milk, vanillin, milk, nonfat milk and soya lecithin, which is an emulsifier that helps to keep the ingredients from separating. Specific flavors may have additional ingredients. For instance, Hershey's Kisses filled with mint truffle also contain oil of peppermint and cornstarch.
