Over time, the body accumulates toxins through your diet and external sources like pollution. These toxins can affect your overall health and how you feel each day. However, they can be removed through body cleansing, which is structured to flush out toxins from your organs and skin, leaving you feeling younger and healthier. While some are extreme and uncomfortable, it's no challenge to put together a body cleanse that you can easily do without crimping your lifestyle.
Step 1
Develop a cleansing diet. You could choose an extreme such as the lemonade diet, but this can be incredibly taxing on your body. Instead, opt for a diet free of meat and low on grains. Eat organic fruits and vegetables, avoid processed foods and hydrogenated oils, and stay away from caffeine and alcohol. Use vegetable broth as an effective snack between meals.
Step 2
Drink plenty of water--at least eight glasses (64 ounces altogether) a day.
Step 3
Exercise at least every other day, if not more often. Workouts should last at least 20 minutes, and preferably 30 or more. This will accelerate the flushing out of your system. Sweating is a natural way of releasing toxins from your body. Because of this, saunas are also a good option.
Step 4
Use body wraps to promote the excretion of toxins. You can get these at a spa or do your own wraps at home. Do at least three each week that you are doing a body cleanse.
Tips and Warnings
- A good length of time to cleanse is anywhere from 3 days to two weeks, depending on how well you are able to maintain the cleansing.
- Don't cheat on your cleanse in the middle-avoiding drinking or smoking, and don't eat snack foods that run counter to the diet you've established and slow your progress.
