The Proform 345 treadmill is a discontinued model. This treadmill is not a manual, which means that it is powered electrically and must be plugged into a working outlet. The reset button on a Proform 345 treadmill is also called the reset/off button as it serves more than one function. The reset/off button is a feature not found on every treadmill, and fortunately, it is not hard to find or use.
Where is the Button
The reset button is located on the front left hand side of the base of the treadmill, if you are standing in front of the machine. It is on the right side if you are standing on the walking belt facing the display. If you are having trouble finding the button, follow the power cord to where it inserts into the treadmill.
What is the Button
The reset/off button is also the circuit breaker and on button. This button turns the treadmill on, turns the treadmill off, and serves as a circuit breaker switch to reset the machine when there are power problems.
When to Use the Button
The reset/off button comes in handy when you are experiencing problems with your 345 treadmill. When the power will not turn on, the first thing you should do is check that the machine is plugged in and that the reset/off button is in the "reset" position, which essentially is the "on" position. If the reset button protrudes outwards, that tells you that the circuit has been tripped. You must press the button back in for the treadmill to function. The key must also be in the console or the treadmill won't turn on. This is a safety feature. The manual advises this same procedure if the power goes off by itself while you are exercising on the 345 treadmill.
You should also turn the reset/off button to the off position whenever you complete a workout. It is not advised that you leave the treadmill on, according to the owner's manual. Also unplug the power cord.
The Proform 345 treadmill has several features besides a reset button. The EKG2 heart rate monitor relates your heart rate on the display when you press your thumb into the sensor on the left side of the console. The treadmill also has a water bottle holder and a fan. The fan has two speeds, low and high. Simply press the fan button on the left side of the display console once to turn the fan on and twice for high speed.
The Proform 345 treadmill has a calorie counter on the display. The display is unique because it will show you not only your total calories burned, but your fat calories too. These, of course, are only estimates. You'll also be able to see your speed, time and distance.
