Despite years of advocating for fiber-rich diets, health experts report that the typical American only consumes 10 to 15 g of fiber a day. The current fiber recommendation for adults is to consume 20 to 35 g of fiber daily. The Daily Value guide for fiber on the Nutrition Facts label is set at 25 g per day.
