Muesli is the term for a dried fruit and nuts cereal. Muesli can contain oats, seeds, almonds, cashews and dried bananas, apples and berries. Each of these ingredients influences the nutritional content and calories for the dried fruit and nuts cereal.

Calories

One cup, or 85 g, of muesli can contain 289 calories, although the exact amount will depend on its composition. One serving contains 221 calories from carbohydrates, as well as 36 calories from fat and 32 from protein.

Nutrients

Each serving can contain 196 mg of sodium. Muesli is also high in fiber and contains 6.2 g per serving. The cereal also contains iron, vitamin B-6, thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, folate, vitamin B-12 and manganese.

Considerations

Nutrient-dense muesli contains a considerable amount of nutrition and fiber for one serving. The MayoClinic.com recommends women consume 21 g to 25 g of fiber per day while men should consume 30 g to 38 g of fiber per day. One serving meets 16 percent to 30 percent of these daily recommendations.
