Banana squash is a cylindrical squash available year-round, typically sold precut because of its heavy weight. It is a low-calorie vegetable that is a good source of vitamins A and C.

Calories

According to Peer Trainer, an online calorie website, 85 g of raw banana squash contains 30 calories, zero fat and 7 g of carbohydrates.

Vitamins

An 85-g serving of banana squash contains 70 percent of the USDA's recommended daily values for vitamin A, and 15 percent of the recommended allowance for vitamin C.

Varieties

There are three varieties of banana squash: blue, pink and orange, with pink being the most common in grocery stores in the U.S. The Pink Mammoth Jumbo is the largest variety, at 48 inches long and up to 75 lbs.
