Low carbohydrate diets have gained popularity as a weight loss option that restricts the number of carbs you consume on a daily basis. Some examples of low carb diets include Atkins and South Beach Diet. Most of your calories will instead come from fat sources, such as meats. If you want to lose weight fast on a low carb diet, you'll have to make some major modifications to the way you eat. Make sure you speak to your doctor before you follow a low carb diet to drop the weight quickly.
Step 1
Remove any foods that contain white flour or sugar from your diet. If you want to lose weight fast on a low carb plan, you'll need to read labels to make sure you are not ingesting sugar or white flour.
Step 2
Allow only 10 percent of your daily caloric intake to consist of carbohydrates. The carbs you do consume should be from natural sources such as fruits and vegetables.
Step 3
Rely on fats and protein sources for the rest of your calories when trying to lose weight quickly when cutting carbohydrates. Some examples of what you can have on these diets include two eggs with two slices of bacon, 1½ ounces of macadamia nuts, two ounces of beef chuck, one ounce of cream cheese, four ounces of chicken and a serving of fish.
Step 4
Restrict your calories as well. If you want to drop the weight fast, you'll have to restrict calories on the low carb diet. For example, the modified Atkins plan Fat Fast permits you to have 1,000 calories a day for a three- to five-day period.
Step 5
Eat small meals throughout the day. To prevent feeling hungry and cheating on your low carb diet, eat small meals every two to three hours. Aim for four to five low calorie, low carb meals.
