Rooibos plants, primarily grown in South Africa, produce the red leaves for rooibos tea. This red tea is naturally caffeine-free, sweet tasting and is often infused with other flavors. Its calorie content depends on how you prepare the tea.
Types
Rooibos teas are available in a variety of flavors. Varieties include orange mango, vanilla, pomegranate, spiced, pear and berry.
Ingredients
Rooibos teas contain primarily tea leaves. Flavored varieties add natural and artificial flavors. Some teas, both flavored and unflavored, may contain preservatives.

Adding 1 tbsp. of sugar increases the calorie content by 49 calories, while the same amount of honey adds 64 calories. Pouring in 1 tbsp. of skim milk increases the calorie content by 5 calories. One tbsp. of whole milk adds 9 calories.
