Mix lime juice concentrate and some sugar, and you've got lime cordial. Sometimes it's simply called "lime juice" in the United States. Lime cordial is a popular addition to cocktails.

Identification

A 1-oz. serving of lime cordial has about 12 calories, according to the Drinks Mixer website. These come from 3 g of carbohydrates; the carbs are predominately sugar.

Considerations

Make a cocktail with lime cordial and you will be consuming more calories, depending on what drink you make. One basic drink, called the green ambulance, mixes 1/3 oz. lime cordial with 2/3 oz. vodka. In all, that's about 51 calories, with about 44 calories from the vodka and close to 7 from the lime cordial.

Features

Some brands of lime cordial have more than just sugar and water, but they're mainly preservatives or additives that don't add to the calorie count. For example, lime cordial may also include water, natural flavors, citric acid, coloring and sodium metabisuphite.
