If you want to play basketball at home, but you don't want to keep your basket up permanently, Huffy has a backboard and rim that will meet your needs. You can take your hoop down during cold winter months and put it in your garage or another storage area. If you or other people in your household are not longer interested in playing, you can remove it easily.

Step 1

Position the base of the Huffy basketball system on the side of the driveway or the spot you want it positioned. Fill it with 80 lbs. of sand so it will remain sturdy and resistant to inclement weather.

Step 2

Position the main arm in the preset slot in the base. Let the front edge of that arm rest on the padded pole in the front of the base.

Step 3

Position the backboard brace at the top of the main arm of the Huffy basketball setup. Use the two main screws to attach the backboard to the main arm. Place the rim on the backboard and attach it with four screws.

Step 4

Turn the handle on the back of the main arm to adjust the height of the basket. If adults are playing the game, you will want to put it at the standard height of 10 feet. However, if you have young people who are just learning the game, you will want to have the rim at 7 or 8 feet.

Step 5

Place foam padding on the base of the basket as well as the main arm. Collisions and hard fouls may occur when playing basketball, even in a recreational game played in a driveway. Covering the base of the Huffy basketball system and the main arm with padding can keep injuries to a minimum.
