Two Day Body Cleanse

Cleansing programs can help jump-start a diet or get you off of a plateau, but they can also help you clean your body. If you're trying to change lifestyles or cleanse your body after excesses, a two-day cleanse can be a good way to accomplish your goals.

Step 1

Choose what type of cleansing you would prefer. Two-day cleanses can be done in the form of fasts, as juice diets or by using a special cleansing product bought at a health food store or pharmacy. Which one you choose depends on personal preference, but you can compare different methods at a site such as NaturalHealingToday.com.

Step 2

If you have never fasted before, try a fruit or vegetable juice diet as a full cleanse instead. A complete fast, where you consume nothing but water, can be too debilitating and could lower your blood sugar, making you sluggish and lightheaded. With a juice/veggie diet, you can drink unlimited amounts of juice throughout the day, as well as water, but nothing else.

Step 3

Prepare your environment for the cleanse. If possible, do the cleanse over a weekend, so you can stay in if you feel weak or dizzy from the process. Pick a time when the house will be quiet, so you'll have time to meditate and relax.

Step 4

Read the labels carefully before buying a cleansing product. Many of these can cause stomach distress, gas and diarrhea. These are normal side effects of the products and you will need to deal with them. If you decide to use one of these products, rest, drinks lots of water and stay home.

Step 5

Drink lots of water, herbal teas or other sugar-free, non-caffeinated drinks. This will help flush out toxins released during the cleanse and keep your body functioning well, despite the low calorie intake.

Step 6

Add some solid foods if you're feeling sick. You can still do a cleanse if you consume non-starchy raw or steamed vegetables, such as kale, spinach, broccoli and zucchini.

Step 7

Try to stay active. While a regular workout routine may be too difficult while you're doing a cleanse, you can still remain active by going for a walk a couple of times a day. This will help your body process foods better, help clear toxins and maintain your level of energy.
